Ghent: Echoes & Aromas Through Time

A Neo-Romanesque cruciform church, built in sandstone, with characteristic elements such as round arches, round arch friezes, twin lights, and taper capitals, and a narthex typical of early Christian and Byzantine churches. Inaugurated in 1930, designed by architect Henri Valcke, and listed as a monument in 2003.

A former hotel, Flandria Palace, designed by Jules Van den Hende, was built for the 1913 World Exposition near the Sint-Pieters station. It has 600 rooms and was later used as offices for NMBS and Infrabel.

A bronze statue of King Baudouin, designed by Hugo Vander Vekens, is situated on the Familie De Vignedreef. The statue depicts King Baudouin, a notable Belgian monarch who oversaw significant changes in his country and its former colony, Congo, during his reign from 1951 to 1993.
