Historical & Cultural Walk Through Purmerend

A historically important square in the center of Purmerend, originating from 1645 as a market field for local farmers to sell their livestock. Today, it is a lively entertainment hub with numerous restaurants and shops.

A houten blokhuis or wooden Blockhaus, built in 1920, is a category villa with a rectangular plan and two storeys, featuring wooden standaardramen and characteristic schuifluiken.

A railway bridge, known as the Wherebrug, is a movable bridge over the De Where canal in Purmerend. It has a lifting section and a fixed part, and is part of the Spoorlijn Zaandam - Enkhuizen.
